Before You Start — Four Things to Know About Your Situation
Before working through the selector questions, gather these four pieces of information. None requires specialist knowledge — just a few minutes checking your car’s documentation and your home’s electrical setup.
1. What EV do you drive and what is its maximum AC charging rate?
Check your owner’s manual under charging specifications. The number you need is the maximum AC charging power — not the DC fast charging rate.

If you don’t know, check your electricity meter or consumer unit. Single-phase meters have one live wire connection. Three-phase have three.
